Armed with a unique name, passion for food and with some good recipes, Petawrap set up shop in Chennai with an auto shaped kiosk and some creative dresses. I did their food tasting quite sometime back, but this is the first time I actually got to eat the product out of the kiosk! And I was surprised that they almost maintained their quality and taste in most of the dishes!
If you see an auto stationed in some petrol bunk with food being served inside, don't be surprised, cos you might have actually spotted Petawrap! All their staff have Rahman's Petawrap song as their called tunes, they tried to make their waiters dressed up as autowalas in Super Star style but it seemed to have not caught on! But the unique kiosk shape with a nice name catches people's attention!
We were three of us and so we got to taste all 6 of their wraps! The first one I had was Chicken Chettinad - mildly spicy, decent chettinad flavor, though the spices could do with some tweaking and overall a decent wrap. The next was Kebab wrap, which to me was the best among the non veg options. Thought slightly dry, the kebabs inside were done to perfection and except for that you might have to keep adding sauces to it, is was a brilliant wrap! I got a bite out of the Chicken Manchurian, the cheapest of the lot, and I thought it was very average! Among the veg options, I took a bite of the rajma wrap, which was very good, a bite of the vada pav wrap made me order one more vada pav all for myself- it was brilliant. The vada was very good and unlike the kebab wrap, the vada pav had a lot of juice in it and was succulent and super! I did not get to taste the paneer tikka wrap as I was stuffed by this time!
Your options to wash them down are very limited - pepsi and nimbuz to be exact! The waiters are friendly, you have daily specials and prices to kill for. The veg wraps are priced between Rs 35 and 45, while the non veg between Rs 40 and Rs 50 which are killer price points! I wish they add some more options as far as drinks are concerned, but otherwise two wraps are good enough for lunch or a snack - tasty, filling and easy on the pocket!

I tried the kiosk on Nelson Manikam Road, outside the Pantaloon's showroom, but they have an outlet in Mogappair and in Adyar and I was told they have an employee only stall inside Cognizant! If they have a stall near T Nagar or near KNK road, I would be hitting here at least twice a week!
