Drewberry's

Drewberry's

Just off R K Salai, is a new upmarket restaurant!!!! Having heard the name and the location, we decided straightaway to head there on a Saturday night for a quiet meal. The setting as you enter is beautiful, with barstools and a counter right in front and tables neatly laid out with a great dose of privacy!!! There are almost no tables adjacent to each other, only one behind the other. I was completely impressed with the setting!! The menu is typically continental with lots of grill, pizza and burger options and the usual appetizers and desserts. The menu layout is unique with it being easy to get to the section you specifically want. We ordered one starter - chicken cubes, one grilled chicken burger, one chicken stuffed breast grill and two iced lemon teas. The iced teas were served on super large glasses and did not have sugar syrup in them and was also not Nestea being served either. It was well brewed, like the ones you get in Sparky's, but a little more dilute for my liking,

Elementz Cafe

Elementz Cafe

In an extremely crowded food scene near the KNK Road and Wallace Gardens, Egmore, a brand new cafe, aspiring to be a 'hang out' has set up shop! Elementz does have a happening atmosphere and good grubs, and could be a great place if done right! Elementz kind of has 4 different seating areas- as soon as you enter, you see something like a bar setting with a few tables near by, on the left there are two differently lighted seating areas with low seating, another white themed area near the front of the building and an outdoor seating area at the back!! So it kind of gives you some choice of seating and that is always a nice thing! We only had some iced tea, a chicken panini and some chicken sausage sandwich and going by what we ate, the food is very good!!!! The iced tea, well, I am not sure if there was any tea in it, but the drinks were flavorful. They even serve non alcoholic wine, champagne and the likes!!The above cost about Rs 500 and this is ok for the kind of food the

Navratna - Le Royal Meridian

Navratna - Le Royal Meridian

On a quiet Monday evening, the wife and me decided to have a rendezvous with Meridian and so we drove down there, spent some time in the lobby and were trying to choose between the three in house restaurants to have dinner! One of the managers helped us out and we chose Navratna, their Indian restaurant, as we were told  that we could get food from the other restaurants at Navratna but not the other way around. Add a nice candle light dinner to it and our choice was made. The setting of Navratna was grandiose, with a Nawab like ambiance!!! We settled into a nice table and were pampered well! The menu is pretty small, a South Indian section and a North Indian section, with only between  four or five choices within starters, main courses, curries and desserts in each of the sections! We were not particularly hungry and so we ordered two fresh juices, 2 starters and one biriyani! The juices were decent, for starters we had ordered Chicken coriander cubes and Aloo 65!!! The chicken was s

Blur

Blur

Blur Cafe, the cafe at Blur, Satyam Cinemas strengthens the fact that Satyam is spot on with anything that they add to their Cinemas (except the soft drinks maybe)! With brilliant screens, a state of the art video games parlour, a fantastic dessert cafe, a great Indian cuisine restaurant, it is no surprise that the Blur Cafe is a brilliant eat out!  There are a few glitches, but for the most part, Blur Cafe is brilliant! Water is served in beautiful tall glasses, but the fruit juices are served in paper cups! Duh!!! But beyond this, the food is so good that you forget the small things, if the small things were right, this would compete for a fine dining status! The interiors are bright and welcoming and the furniture is unique. We were a group of 6 looking for some food on Sunday night and we quickly settled ourselves into a nice comfortable corner. We ordered some fried prawns and dragon chicken for starters, and one pasta, one chicken sandwich, one beef sandwich, one chicken nood
